General
How it works
After you have installed the WoofConnect app, matches are searched based on the profile data and preferences you have specified, such as the radius within which you would like to find a match. If you send a ‘Boarding like’ (thumbs up) to a profile and they do the same to yours, then there’s a ‘Boarding match’. At this point, you can contact the owner of that dog through the WoofConnect chat and you can arrange something, for example, taking a walk together with the dogs to get acquainted. If that clicks, you can take care of each other’s dogs. Even if you have already found a sitter, we will continue searching for more good matches for you. It is wise to always have more sitters on hand, in case you both happen to be away in the same week or the same weekend.
Matching
The premise of WoofConnect is that dogs from the same breed group and of a similar age often have the same energy levels. This is important for a good match. We first look to see if there are dogs of the same breed and similar age within the radius you have specified. If there is no profile of a dog of the same breed within that radius, we look to see if there are matches from the same breed group as your dog. So, you must realize, the smaller you make the radius, the smaller the chance of finding a perfect match of exactly the same breed that also meets all the other preferences you have specified. Adjusting the radius is therefore a good tool for you to increase the chances of success.
If no profiles have been found at this time, don’t worry! New owners sign up daily. As soon as new profiles become available for you, they will immediately appear in the app. Check the app again at a later time.
Boarding likes
When someone is interested in looking after your dog, they can indicate this by sending you a ‘Like’ (thumbs up). Within WoofConnect, we refer to these as ‘Boarding likes’. When you send a ‘Boarding like’ back to the owner who sent you one, you both have a ‘Boarding match’.
Rejected by you
“Rejected by you” are profiles that you have rejected for boarding.

Do you want to help find a nice home-stay for even more dogs? Share the WoofConnect app with other dog owners. The owners and their dogs will be grateful to you. To do this, go to “Settings” in the app and click on “Share the app with friends”.
Boarding matches & messages
Boarding matches
A “Boarding match” is formed when you send a ‘Boarding like’ to a profile and they respond with a ‘Boarding like’ in return. Start by chatting with each other through the WoofConnect chat to get to know each other a bit better. If you have a good feeling about it, you can arrange a meeting, for example, take a walk together with the dogs for an introduction. If that works out, you can look after each other’s dogs.
Even if you have already found a caretaker, we will continue to search for more good matches for you. It’s always wise to have more caretakers in reserve, in case both of you are away in the same week or weekend.
Messages
You can only receive and send messages when you have a ‘Boarding match’ with another dog owner. Therefore, both of you must have sent each other a ‘Boarding like’.
Profile & account settings
Change Distance
By default, you see caretaker profiles within a radius of 100 miles. Would you like to reduce this distance? In the ‘Settings’ menu, you can decrease the radius. However, this will result in fewer suggested caretaker profiles.
Change location
To determine your location, WoofConnect always uses the GPS location of your phone. Therefore, make sure that when you create your profile, you do this from your home location. Is your location incorrect? Then go to the menu option “Settings”, choose “Your current location” and click on the “Update” button.
Temporarily Hide Profile
It’s possible to temporarily hide your profile from other users. Your profile will then not be displayed in the app. Keep in mind that other users will no longer be able to see your profile for care and you will not see new care profiles either. Go to “Settings” and click on “Hide profile”. Even if you’ve found a sitter for your dog, it’s wise to always have more sitters at the ready, in case you both happen to be away the same week or weekend.
Delete Account
You can delete your account. To do this, go to “Settings” in the app and click on the “Delete Account” button. All your profile data will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone. From the settings, you can also choose to hide your profile instead of deleting it. Even if you have already found a sitter for your dog, it is smart to have more sitters on hand, just in case you both happen to be away in the same week or weekend.

Community Guidelines
Report a profile
We want WoofConnect to be a safe and enjoyable place for dog owners. If you see a profile that does not adhere to the community guidelines, you can report it to us. Use the “Report” icon at the top right of the relevant profile in the app for this. We will review the profile and take action if necessary.
Account Blocked
If you do not adhere to the community guidelines, your account will be blocked. If you have any questions about this, please contact support.
